Lithuania Property Restitution: MyWebridge Reclaims Family Heritage Despite Bureaucratic Barriers

In 2019, a grandson of two prominent Jewish traders from Kaunas, Lithuania contacted MyWebridge, seeking help to recover family-owned real estate that was confiscated during the Soviet era. Unfortunately, at that time, Lithuanian law did not allow restitution or compensation for nationalized property.

But at MyWebridge, we never forget our clients.

When Lithuania launched a compensation program in 2022 for Holocaust survivors and their descendants, we immediately informed the applicant and reopened the case. Our team began a deep, professional genealogical and historical investigation to identify all immovable property once owned by the family.

Sadly Lithuanian archives, refused to conduct the necessary research but our specialists did not give up. We independently traced and verified multiple real estate assets, and then worked with the archives to confirm our findings.

The challenge: Lithuania allowed only one year to submit the claims.
The result: We met the deadline and successfully submitted all claims—showcasing our dedication, experience, and ability to overcome obstacles under pressure.
